Motel a Miio Discount Code November 2026
Motel a Miio sells handmade ceramics from Portugal: plates, bowls, cups and mugs, vases, glassware and ceramic table lamps. Its European web shop, the same one where the discount codes we track are used, does deliver to the UK, with DHL at a flat £29, and the brand says it handles the customs formalities. Because the order ships from the EU, read the VAT line at checkout before you pay.

How a Motel a Miio discount code works
A Motel a Miio discount code goes into the discount code or voucher field at checkout, after which the total is recalculated. The terms are strict: codes cannot be combined with each other or with other offers, do not apply to items already on sale, gift cards or shipping costs, and limited editions are excluded.
Because a code never touches delivery, the flat £29 UK shipping charge stays the same whatever code you use. That changes the maths compared with EU buyers: a small order carries a heavy delivery cost relative to its value, while one larger order spreads it out.
The shop also explains that prices in its own physical shops can deliberately differ from the website, because buying locally saves packaging, transport and returns. Online and in-store offers may therefore not match.
About Motel a Miio
The range is built around everyday tableware: large and small plates, pasta and soup plates, muesli, soup and salad bowls, cups and mugs from espresso to cappuccino size, saucers and serving platters. Around that sits everything that finishes a laid table: cutlery, oven dishes, sauce bowls, carafes and jugs, egg cups, butter dishes, salt and pepper shakers, oil and vinegar bottles and a separate children's tableware line.
Alongside the tableware there is a decor line: vases in small, medium and large, ceramic and glass table lamps, scented candles, decorative bowls and jewellery dishes. The pieces are grouped into collections with Portuguese names such as Areia, Cordoama, Sintra, Madeira, Bica and Coimbra, plus rotating limited-edition collaborations.
The origin story is the brand's story. The two founders came across handmade ceramics on a family holiday in Portugal; from 2016 they looked for producers there to work with, starting with a pop-up shop in Munich. The brand now says it has around fifty of its own shops across Europe, in addition to the online store.
The practical bit for UK buyers: you order from the same European store with a country selector, delivery is by DHL at a flat £29, and the shipping page states that VAT is not included on UK orders while the company handles customs. Within the EU the shop works to four to seven working days; a UK parcel crosses a customs border, so allow for that. Payment options include Visa, Mastercard, PayPal, Klarna, Apple Pay and Google Pay.
Why shop at Motel a Miio?
- Handmade, so no two pieces match — The ceramics are thrown and glazed by hand in Portugal. Small differences in colour, glaze and surface are part of the product and the shop does not treat them as faults. If you want perfectly identical plates, look elsewhere; if you like the variation, this is the place.
- Made for everyday use — The tableware is microwave and dishwasher safe, with advice to use a gentle cycle of 50 °C at most. Gold-rimmed pieces, vases and carafes are better washed by hand.
- Sets for two to ten people — As well as single pieces there are dinner sets sized by number of guests and mix-and-match sets. Handy if you want to fill a table in one go, and sets are where the shop most often marks prices down.
- Made in the EU — The clay comes from the producers' region and the work is done in traditional ceramics factories in Portugal. For shipping packaging the shop says it only uses FSC-certified paper.
- Customs handled for you — For UK orders the shop says it takes care of the customs formalities, so you are not left filling in paperwork yourself. Check the final VAT position in your basket.

More money-saving tips for Motel a Miio
- Make it one bigger order — UK delivery is a flat £29 and codes do not reduce it. Each extra order costs the same again, so gather your whole list before you check out.
- Check the VAT line — The shipping page says VAT is not included on UK orders. Look at the full total in your basket so the final cost is clear before you pay.
- Return a set complete — Partial refunds on a dinner set are not possible: only a full return of the set is refunded. If you are unsure about one piece, buy it individually instead.
- Read the care notes per item — Almost everything is microwave safe, but not everything can go in the oven: only the oven dishes are ovenproof, up to 180 °C and ideally starting from a cold oven. Gold rims should be hand-washed.
